If a person is unable to work, as a result of a disability, for 52 consecutive weeks or more, they are entitled
to file a claim for social security disability benefits. It does not matter whether the disability occurs as a
result of an accident or because of an illness.
Almost all social security claims are denied initially by the Social Security Administration. Do not be discouraged
if you should be denied. An experienced attorney will be able to assist you in appealing the claim and presenting
your claim before a Judge if necessary to obtain these benefits. Please note, however, that the time limits for
appeal are very short and strictly enforced. Therefore, it is important to contact an attorney as soon as possible!
